Holes in my Roof

“And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men. Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.” Mark 2:3-4

A persistent and passionate group of four brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus. Mark records that Jesus was at home at this time. Its very possible that the roof destroyed in this heavenly pursuit of healing, was that of Jesus own mother. But no scolding of her son is recorded, for the miracle far outweighed the temporary inconvenience and cost of a roof repair.

How important it is to keep priorities in line. Sometimes I get wound up about small incoveniences and costs.

Lord, thank you for setting me straight about what really matters… You, others, the gospel being preached. I praise You for yesterday. May today be incredible. Bless my wife as she sings, my friend Mark as he ministers at Adopt-a-block, and may I catch some great waves when I surf this morning. And thank you for my mom, dad, and brothers. I am blessed.
