Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth. But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man. Luke 21:34-36
Jesus had a warning for us about the time just before His return. He told us to guard our hearts from the affects fo drunkenness and also worrying because this would cause us to miss the signs of His coming. Think about it. Many people are simply dulled to the signs of His coming because they are self-absorbed, drunk on one thing or another. Others will miss the fact that our times have changed because they are absorbed by worldly cares, riches, self-gratification.
This is why Jesus said I must “die to my self, take up my cross and follow Him”. I am to be sober-minded and alert. To me the signs are crystal clear. You?
Oh God, there have never been times like this before. So much of what you spoke about Jesus, is happening right now around the world. So I am “looking up, as my redemption draws near!” Maranatha!
