“With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles. And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah” 2 Chronicles 32:9

Following a time of national revival (marked by rejecting idolatry and personal purity) led by king Hezekiah, the people of Judah experienced a time of challenge, not peace. Imagine that. Do what is right and the days of ease won’t necessarily come. Sennecherib attacks the city of Jerusalem while mocking God. He attempts to spread fear in God’s people.

The powerful word and example of Hezekiah brought encouragement to the people and lead them to victory!

When I am purely worshipping God, it doesn’t guarantee me peace with His enemies. But, I will have peace with Him.

May we, like Hezekiah and do what is good, right and true before our God. verse 31:20
