Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures,
‘THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED,
THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone;
THIS CAME ABOUT FROM THE LORD,
AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES’? Matthew 21:47
In his argument with the Pharisees (religious rulers), Jesus tells parables and quotes familiar Old Testament passages of scripture to illustrate to them that they were unfaithful and legalistic. The privilege of carrying the message of the Messiah was passing from them (they rejected the STONE) to this new ‘rag tag’ group of believers, known in the early day as People of the Way and eventually, Christians!
For me, the STONE is marvelous in my eyes. Jesus is personally my Savior and Lord. My life has become incredible because of Him. And all of this was His plan… it is from the LORD.
Dear God, today I do marvel at your plan. I pray all I know will experience You in a personal way. Oh that they might bow their knee and that the eyes of their heart would be opened to you. This Easter I pray that the risen Savior rises in the hearts of my family and friends. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
