Changes

“Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.” Matthew 24:1-3

The disciples marveled at the splendor of the temple in their day. Jesus set them back onto more eternal thoughts. As magnificent as Herod’s temple was, it would be gone within 50 years, literally disassembled by Roman soldiers stone by stone. Jesus used this occasion to warn of the coming great time of tribulation and the need for believers to endure.

How am I doing with changes happening in my life and the world? Am I focused on the eternal? I hope so. Many times the simplest of changes can bother me and upset the way I am used to doing things. But, I want to always think of the eternal purposes of God.

Lord today is Resurrection Sunday. Talk about eternal purpose and change. You came back alive! Now that’s one great change. And because You did, I am changing, day by day into your likeness. Thank You!
