For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
After those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws into their minds,
And I will write them on their hearts.
And I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.
And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen,
And everyone his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
For all will know Me, from the least to the greatest of them.
For I will be merciful to their iniquities,
And I will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:10-12
The author of Hebrews tells of a day that was coming. It is partially fulfilled today. As Jesus’ teaching and example have gone out all over the world, He has written His laws on the hearts of men. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has become our God… He is well known (ultimately, to be known by all). His mercy covers our iniquities and our sins are not remembered. Of course, the forces of evil and distraction are not completely defeated. But, its really happening! All of this began with the new covenant established by Jesus Christ. Remember, he said, take drink this is a new covenant made with my blood.
Do I have the laws of God in my mind an on my heart? How obedient am I on a daily basis?
Lord Jesus, my wonderful Mediator, Master and Savior, as this day begins, please impress upon my Your will and Your ways in every situation. Help me share Your love and affection with all I meet. Go before me in powerful ways. Meet my deepest needs. I am so glad I know You Jesus. Whisper words to me. Thank you for each in my family- please direct their steps and affirm them in their calling and gifts.
