Word
Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. Philippians 2:14

Having an attitude of humility prepares one for a life without grumbling for it leads to contentment and a recognition that power is always fully available to the Christian. We ought to be distinctly different from the worldly unsaved person. One way that difference is evident is in our speech. The child of God speaks as his Father speaks. God does not complain, grumble or argue. The one who doesn’t complain, earns an opportunity to hold out the word of life. While not everyone will grab hold, many will.

Is my speech so seasoned with salt and purified that others would want to know about my faith? Am I avoiding grumbling and arguing to such a degree that there is a marked difference?

God, as we go through this day, may I speak as the very oracle of God. By the power of Your Holy Spirit guard my lips by first guarding my heart. Help me realize that Jesus’ example of humility is my model and source of strength. I thank you that humility and meekness are virtues and that meekness is not weakness, its Your power under control.
