Wonderfully Saved

And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. Hebrews 9:27-28

One day I will meet my Savior. Either He will return for me (as Jesus promised) or I will go to Him. The author of Hebrews makes it clear that when He returns for those who love Him, it will not be to judge our sin, but rather to gather us into His presence and heaven. That is not to say that those who have rejected Him will not face a judgment. They will.

Salvation has its way of unfolding in our life and in history too. I know I was saved (in 1980), I am being saved, and I fully expect to be saved. When Jesus returns it will be the consummation of God’s salvific plan. I am anticipating seeing the God who made me, growing in grace and knowledge, being made perfect (whole) and living without sin in a body that never gets tired. So glad I have the hope of heaven. Even happier its available to anyone. That’s why I have said “I’m just a nobody, telling everybody, about somebody (Jesus), that can change anybody”.

Am I allowing God to do what He wills in my life now, as I await our meeting in the future? Is my conscience free of guilt?

God, as this day begins- Its Sunday and its a day appointed for corporate worship. But, we are doing it “online”. Would you still be part of all we sing and say and do? Thank you that I have part of my family here with me.

Jonathan Edwards resolution #53. Resolved, to improve every opportunity, when I am in the best and happiest frame of mind, to cast and venture my soul on the Lord Jesus Christ, to trust and confide in him, and consecrate myself wholly to him; that from this I may have assurance of my safety, knowing that I confide in my Redeemer. July 8, 1723.
