And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6
I want my life is pleasing to God. The Bible says, without faith its impossible. God values faith, the kind of faith that trusts Him based on His character and promises. I love pastor John MacArthur’s saying that “faith alone saves, but faith that saves, is never alone”, it always is accompanied by works that are evidence of a deep and abiding belief and trust in God. It looks like Abraham willing to sacrifice Isaac. It looks like Abel offering a better sacrifice. It looks like Moses choosing suffering with God’s people. I hope it looks like me.
What evidence is there in my life that my faith is genuine? Are there major life changes and works that have been born out of my trust in God and response to the gospel?
Lord, I am feeling very motivated at this moment because I do have a deep and abiding faith in You. I have seen You work miracles of healing. I have seen You keep promises You revealed in prayer to me. I have seen You change the hearts of men and women in an instant and draw them to salvation. While I haven’t seen You with my eyes, I have seen You! May I be pleasing in Your sight.
