Wisdom From Praying Every Morning, Noon and Night

danielThen the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a night vision.
Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven;

Daniel said, Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever,
For wisdom and power belong to Him.
It is He who changes the times and the epochs;
He removes kings and establishes kings;
He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding.
It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things;
He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.
To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise,
For You have given me wisdom and power;
Even now You have made known to me what we requested of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s matter. Daniel 2:19-23

James wrote that if any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives generously or liberally. When I try to ‘figure life out’ all on my own, I am missing out on what God has available and wants to give me… His perspective! Daniel and his young friends were thought of as the wisest and discerning in the kingdom. How did that happen? They relied upon godly wisdom and as the Bible says… Daniel set a pattern in life to ‘pray every morning, noon, and night’.

How’s my prayer life? Do I see God’s wisdom over my own? Would others say I am wise?

Lord, in humility I come to you again this morning asking for wisdom to live this life. Show what I do not and cannot know. I imagine like Daniel, we will be talking again by noon and certainly tonight. Thank you for Your attentive ear. May I be attentive to You as well.
