And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” John 9:2
Kids ask “why?” a lot. Why this, why that. The disciples asked Jesus why a man was born blind. They assumed it was the sin of either he or his parents. Jesus said it was so the works of God could be displayed in him. They didn’t see that answer coming.
Do I ask why enough? Or do I make assumptions about circumstances and situations? I think I could spend more time asking for clarification from God.
Lord Jesus, thank you that you set the disciples straight in their understanding. Set me straight too, so I can be a better minister to people in times of suffering.
