Who Will Receive The Wrath of God?

Who? The ungodly. The world is, and has always been, cruel and dark. Terrible people do terrible things. A man just drove a car at high speed into a parade and killed children. God will one day judge and pour out His wrath on an unbelieving and unforgiven world. His patience will run out. But, what happens to those who have repented of their sin and turned to the Savior, but remain here on earth? Will the wrath of God ‘spill over’ upon them? The Apostle Paul says to encourage each other, because whether we are alive or asleep (passed away), we will be forever with the Lord who has not appointed us unto wrath. He is able to protect His own. And even if He doesn’t choose to do so, He has eternity awaiting, where He will not be a debtor to any of us.

We are not of night nor of darkness; so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.  For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:5-11 NASB

How sober-minded am I? Can I see the darkness growing and the impending wrath of God coming?

God, as this day begins- there is still time to reach out and love people in Your name. May You draw many in these last days to Yourself. I am grateful for Your divine protection, patience and provision. May the light shine just a little bit longer through me!
