Which Good Works?

good worksThe Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?” The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God. John 10:31-33

Jesus’ words about being the good shepherd and the only way to salvation angered and confused the Jews in the temple. What they did understand was that Jesus was making claims about His Divinity and it angered them. They wanted to stone Him right then and there! With all the evidence (miracles) they had seen, their hard hearts would not open up to Him. This is still the case in our world today. Instead of embracing Jesus Christ as God in the flesh, Savior of the world, many would prefer to pick up stones and call Him a blasphemer. Tragic.

What good works have I seen in Jesus? Have I embraced Him or reached for a stone to hurt Him?

Thank you God that Jesus became real to me at a fairly early age. That’s when I dropped the stones from my hands and embraced Him as my Lord and Savior. Best decision of my life. Let’s walk today in fellowship. I need Your strength, power and love to be who You want me to be and to accomplish good works today.
