Now Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the prophet, a descendant of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them. Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them. Ezra 5:1-2
Its so important to obey God’s leading. He speaks in many ways. In the past, He spoke through the prophets. Haggai and Zechariah receive the same prompting from God to start the rebuilding of the temple. They inspire Zerubbabel to take the lead. And it happens. People notice. And God protects His Word and their project. Today, He has spoken through His own Son, Jesus.
Am I listening to Jesus, His very Spirit which dwells in me? Have I seen God come through in power? Am I faithful to follow His lead even with opposition all around?
Oh God, what a joy to start this day with so much ahead. A wedding, a worship service and divine appointments all awaiting. Speak to me so I can anticipate and go where You want me and do what You want me to do.
