And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’” Luke 15:31-32
The conclusion of the parable of the prodigal son has ore to do with the older son who has been with his father all along. He is reminded that “all that is mine in yours”. What a truth from Jesus’ teaching. That in Christ, all that is God’s is mine.
Have I really appropriated this reality in my life? All the love, joy, patience, goodness, etc. of God is mine as well. Amazing.
God, I often live like I only have available my own resources. But, you have made me a co-heir with Christ. Help me today to realize all of what that means.
