In love, He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:5-6
Oh the riches that a Christian (Christ follower) has! The apostle Paul enumerates them in his letter to the saints in Ephesus. We along with them have ‘every spiritual blessing in heavenly places’. I don’t know all that means, but it really good. And to discover that God predestined it all from before he formed the world, blows my mind. My mind is blown by what we have in Christ: eternal purpose, holiness before God, forgiveness of trespasses (get out of jail free card), knowledge of the mystery of God, an inheritance, abiding presence of God’s Holy Spirit, a calling with a great hope, the surpassing power of God available to us. Amazing!
Am I living in recognition of all I have in Him? Or am I living as I always have? I know I have His salvation, but have I really appropriated all the promises that come with this relationship to the living God? I am growing in this day by day.
Lord I feel a growing confidence this morning as I contemplate all I am and have in Christ Jesus. Thank you for thinking of me before I ever was, and continuing to include me in Your eternal redemptive plan. Now work mightily in me and through me today as I fellowship with others and lead others to Christ. Amen.
