What Am I,… All About?

I went to my wife’s 40 year class reunion last Saturday night. It was delightful and fun to see people who were acquainted and had became friends years ago, reconnecting, reminiscing, and laughing together. They were catching up on life and sharing who they’ve become. It was a chance to actually get to know each other at a deeper and more profound level. Of course, it takes more time to really understand and appreciate each other than one night. I have limits to those I can know and love personally. If I could share “What I Am About”, it was captured so well in a first century letter from the apostle Paul to the believers in Colossae. My life (What Am I) is largely defined by the life of Jesus Christ… who He is, what He has done for me, and my lifelong response. What are You About?

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:15-20 NIV

Is my life an adequate response to the glory and reality of the Son of God?

God, as this day begins- I am pondering that Jesus was Your mystery revealed to mankind. He is the hope of humanity. He is my Savior and Lord. And yet, how inadequate my devotion and dedication has been by contrast to what He really deserves and His worth. Might I start afresh today? Could I live this one day as a mature believer extending life and love to those around me as an extension of HIs great love? Please fill me Holy Spirit to be and become who You really want me to be. May others see from the outside “What I Am About”!
