Want A Closer Walk With God? You Got It!

from The Chosen (Nicodemus with Jesus)

This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is My throne and the earth is the footstool for My feet. Where then is a house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that I may rest?
For My hand made all these things, so all these things came into being,” declares the Lord. But I will look to this one, at one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word.” Isaiah 66:1-2

Our senior pastor often says that ‘you are as close to God as you want to be’. And its true. God wants to be very close, even taking up permanent residence in your very heart, mind and soul.

The final chapter of Isaiah’s prophetic book, begins with a profound question: Does God dwell in temples made by man? In a stunning answer, Isaiah foretells of a time when the answer will be unequivocally “no”! Instead, He will dwell in the hearts of the humble and forgiven believer. Imagine that! We live in that day and can rejoice in it. Jesus said it was good that He would go away, because He would send us the Holy Spirit who would be ‘with us and in us’. The Apostle Paul wrote “The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands;” Romans 8:9. And again, “For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell among them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16b.

How am I allowing God full access to my mind, schedule, emotions? Am I house in which He dwells with delight? When was the last time I took inventory and made sure everything necessary is present within me, and the sin has been forgiven and cleansed?

God, as this day begins- a day of corporate worship. I am aware of that which needs attention in my life. Please dwell in me, Holy Spirit. Lead, guide, and direct my steps today. May the love of God flow from my life to all who need a touch from You. Thank you for my sweetheart grand daughter, K-bear; her brother Carter and the little one on the way.
