Ever meet someone for the first time and all they want to do is read you their resume, impress you, or compete in some way? Not very attractive. Isn’t it refreshing when people are others-centered instead of self-centered? I certainly need growth in this area. The apostle Paul reminds us that Jesus is that way. And God desires that we become more like Him.
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Philippians 2:3-5 NLT
What selfish tendencies do I have? How can I look out for others today?
God, as this day begins- there are opportunities ahead to love people in Your name. Help me get past myself to do just that!
