True Success

true successHezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. He held fast to the Lord and did not stop following him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses. And the Lord was with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook. 2 Kings 18:6-7

Hezekiah was a person who succeeded even before he succeeded. The moment he trusted in the Lord he was an initial success. Why? Because true success is becoming like Jesus is word, thought and deed. That’s what character development is all about. Day by day I am made holy (set apart for God’s special use) as I am transformed in my thinking, speech and conduct. The results that others see as success will follow, but the true success started with God entering my life.

When did I make the decision for initial success? For me it was the fall of 1980. What success has followed that other can see? Hopefully the love that I am able to express in a myriad of ways.

God, I want to be like Hezekiah. I will hold fast to following You and keep Your commands. Please be with me. That which I have undertook, show the outward success too! Thank you.
