I have been increasingly troubled by policies and actions of people who I once credited with good intentions. But now, I don’t think I can offer that benefit of doubt. Evil is rights before our eyes, yet many are missing it. There are children here in the United States who have been kidnapped, together with many more from other countries who have been bought and sold to people who are committing horrible abuse and unspeakable acts upon them. They are too young and without power to defend themselves. Every day stories emerge of some who are rescued, while thousands of unaccompanied minors stream across our southern border which is now largely controlled by despicable and brutal cartels. This is evil! The misguided intentions and absolute failure of our current administration and feckless Congress to close loopholes (like the so-called asylum provision) has fostered an unholy incentive to poor people who have been deceived into forsaking their own children. Wise king Solomon reminded us that we must speak up and intervene for the sake of these precious children.
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9 NIV
Do I possess the courage to speak up and confront evil? Or have I resigned myself to look out only for my own needs?
God, as this day begins- My heart aches and a hot anger burns within me because I can see our ineffective and often defiant leaders who could make a difference, simply shrinking back. The lack of wisdom at a national level and the absence of Christian leaders in the current administration is allowing evil to run rampant and unchecked. We need repentance at every level within our country or I fear Your judgment will befall us. I am asking oh Lord that You will show unusual care and compassion to the myriad of children who are being abused, protect those in our custody, rescue those who have been kidnapped. Punish the evildoers. Remove the unrighteous people in power. You alone are our answer God.
