And the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city.” And he settled there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. Acts 18:9-11
Time flies when you are having fun! A few days can turn into a year… when God is in it! Paul was on a missionary journey that called for a stop in Corinth. He most likely planned a short visit in which he would visit the synagogue and share the message of the Messiah. He was well received and his recent devotion to the Word of God was rewarded with people hungry to know the Lord Jesus Christ. A few days turned into a year and a half! That’s how it is with God, the Spirit of God blows where He wishes and we are carried along with Him.
Do I get stuck doing one thing and one thing alone? Am I flexible and compliant with the leading of God’s Spirit?
God, how wonderful that You know all things from start to finish. You have ‘many people in this city’ of Corona who love You and follow You. As I devote myself to the Word of God, open hearts that I might impart the glorious gospel of God to many. What a privilege. And thank you for my daughter Eden who is now 25 years old. Speak to her and reveal Yourself in special ways.
