One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to meditate in His temple. Psalm 27:4
King David wanted to have unbroken fellowship with God. He sang about desiring to seek God and to remain in the temple of God, though the physical temple had not ever existed. He must have been thinking about heaven and purposely ignoring all the earthly cares.
Is this the ‘one thing’ I would desire if I was given one wish? How awesome will it be to spend forever with God who made me? For me, this is a pretty profound thought and place to be… to literally desire God more than all earthly things.
God, at times I have been this heavenly minded. But I confess, earthly cares take far too much of my thoughts and time. Help me keep You as the one thing I desire.
