Now a Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures. This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John; and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. Acts 18:24-26
My theology is not perfect and complete. Is yours? I have the essential teachings of scripture nailed down… the ones that lead to salvation and a proper understanding of God. Apollos was like that too. He had a good command of the Bible, but he needed Aquila and Priscilla to explain to him the way of God more accurately. We all need people doing that. That’s why attending a weekly worship service in a Bible teaching church and participation in a small group Bible study is essential to Christian growth.
How is my motivation to understand God better by knowing His Word? Who in my circle of influence needs me to explain the way of God more accurately?
God, Your Word really is my daily bread. When I am centered in Your will and ways, I feel like I am becoming more of who You want me to be. Thank you for the opportunity to share a little of what I know about You with others. I pray my wife feels appreciated and loved today on her birthday.
