Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
The sun and moon grow dark and the stars lose their brightness.
The Lord roars from Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth tremble.
But the Lord is a refuge for His people and a stronghold to the sons of Israel.
Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain.
So Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will pass through it no more. Joel 3:14-17
The prophet Joel could see a day when God would recompense those nations who swept in and ravaged Israel. Many look to a still future time that will occur in the valley of Jehoshaphat which is also called Meggido or Armageddon. However this will occur, the truth for all believers is that God is a refuge for His people and a stronghold to his sons and daughters. How many of us know, that as a loving Heavenly Father, God wants to show His love and care for us. He wants us to dwell in holiness and safety.
Am I close to the Lord and do I see Him as my Heavenly Father?
God, I marvel at how much good You have placed in my life. Thank you for the blessing of my kids and friends, the home, and the work You’ve called me to. I pray that this day would be honoring and glorifying to You.
