The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29
In this amazing collection of sayings, Solomon contrasts the fool with the wise, the wicked with the righteous. One difference is in the prayers that are offered to God. God “hears” the prayer of the righteous. That means He heeds them. Of course, God hears every prayer. But, He doesn’t heed every prayer.
Am I living my life apart from wickedness? Have I appropriated the righteousness of Christ to such a degree that my life is actually being lived out righteously? Do my answered prayers reflect that God is hearing and heeding them? Yes, to an ever growing degree.
Lord, be near to me today. I pray that You will touch the lives of many today as pastor Jim Garlow preaches about prayer. Draw those who are far from You to Yourself. Cause any who have wandered to return. Help me make an impassioned plea for repentance.
