Call MeNow, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?
Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it.
Yet on your fathers did the Lord set His affection to love them, and He chose their descendants after them, even you above all peoples, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 10:12-15

The law of God is a sign of His affection. Keeping it, is a sign of ours. God set His affection upon Israel in order to set them apart as the people who would show the world what God is like. Ultimately, through the Jews would come our Savior Jesus the Christ. What God wanted from His people and from us today is to revere Him, walk in His ways, love Him and serve Him with our whole heart. We show we love Him by keeping His commands… which are always for our good anyway. His grace and unmerited favor is upon us.

Am I walking in all His ways? Do I serve Him with all my heart and soul?

God, Your Word is precious. Forgive me for not keeping all Your commands. I am grateful for You grace and affection toward me. I see in my life so many good things that have come from Your hand. Truly Your affection is for me. Help me keep Your law by the power of Your Spirit dwelling in me.
