The Importance of an Apology

Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright. Proverbs 14:9

These days it seems very difficult to receive an apology from people. Maybe we are just too busy, too overwhelmed, or just a bit callous. Have you noticed. But, there is a power in making an apology and then making things right (to the degree they can be made right).

I had a difficult meeting yesterday that required an apology. I am looking for some ways to set things right. What am I hoping to gain? Integrity and as the proverb says ‘goodwill’.

God, would you protect my reputation as I strive to be genuine, forgiving and seeking forgiveness. In this imperfect world I want to operate first within Your grace and then in the grace place of others.
