The Hardest Molecules to Move

I don’t like to change my mind. Having once formed an opinion, I prefer to stick with it even more than receiving new information that might challenge my sincerely held beliefs. But, thank God- I am not so rigid to remain completely unwilling to change. Otherwise, I would still be stuck with the attitudes and understanding of a teenager. God, through the indwelling Holy Spirit has changed my entire value system over time and continues to mature my understanding of this world and the next. How about you? Are you hard-headed? Are the hardest molecules to move the one’s between your ears? God prepared Peter for a radical shift in his thinking by first setting up a series of angelic visits and miraculous circumstances. It was only then that he realized God was willing to accept Gentile believers into His kingdom. May God prepare us with such gracious kindness so that we too can move the molecules in our head to align with His.

I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him. The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)—  Acts 10:34-36a NASB

What issues and opinions are preventing me from seeing the world as God does? Am I stubborn and unwilling to dialogue and read opinions contrary to my own? Why?

God, as this day begins- I can almost laugh at how You have changed so much of what I think and believe. I give you access again to my emotions, thoughts, and actions today. Lead and guide me in Your way. Help me understand and discern righteousness, mercy and justice. I pause to pray for the circle of friends You’ve appointed for me. Would you intervene in every situation, especially being very real and close to Pat Moseley my dear friend of all these years.
