The Greater Divide

It seems that the divide in American politics is greater than ever. When the speaker of the house tore up the president’s state of the union speech on national TV, it was crystalized. But, there is a greater divide. The divide that God sees. It is a divide between those in His kingdom and those against it. I wish ‘everyone was in’. But, the sad reality is that many,… most, will reject the saving work of Jesus Christ. They will not repent of their sins and turn to the loving God who made them. They are content to live in a world without Him. The divide is one of hearts. Those in the same family can be in the same household, but belong to different kingdoms. Jesus predicted it.

I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled!  But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!  Do you think that I came to provide peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.  They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law. Luke 12:49-53 NASB

How am I bridging the divide and reaching out to those who have not yet heard the gospel, received Christ as Lord and Savior, and changed their allegiance to His kingdom?

God, as this day begins, I am grateful for what You have planned for me. Thank you for graciously saving my children and drawing them into Your kingdom. We are a household undivided and Your peace rests upon it. Now, may I be used by you to share your love and message of reconciliation with someone today.
