The Great Divide

If we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead— by this name this man stands here before you in good health. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone.
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. Acts 4:9-13

Peter and John made a bold defense when they stood in the midst of the chief priests and leaders. They pointed out their part in Jesus crucifixion and that their rejection was predicted by the prophets… and the stone they rejected has become the very cornerstone. Then, they clearly pointed out that there is no other name (besides Jesus) by which we must be saved. This began a great dividing line between Christianity and its Jewish heritage. The divide would be permanent and enormous and they all could sense it.

When and where do I need to be bold? Have I claimed the name of Jesus?

What an amazing heritage we have as Christians (Christ followers). Today I pray that You would open the eyes of those born into Jewish homes and reveal to them that the marvelous Savior they are looking for, has already come and is available to them. Pour out Your Spirit upon all of us. Redeem our people, here in Corona, California, and America. Personally, Lord- help my wife feel prepared for her mission trip.
