I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and [ah]the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.” Galatians 3:20
I love the name of Elvis Presley former home: Graceland! Church is the collection of people who have come to the “Grace Place”. Paul shares with the believers in Galatia about his struggle with the Judaizers (those who would put Gentile believers under the yoke of following Jewish traditions and laws as part of their justification and salvation). He says once you have put your faith in Christ, you cannot go back and rely upon anything else for salvation, even your own so-called good works.
Am I in any way relying upon anything but Christ for my right standing with God? Position? Works? Or am I in the sweet spot of Grace?!
God, it really is all about what Jesus did for me. He lived a perfect life, died a death He didn’t deserve, rose from the dead… all for my justification. I accept it, and Him. I belong to You. Thank you for your grace and this life of freedom in Christ.
