But HE WHO BOASTS IS TO BOAST IN THE LORD. For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends. I Corinthians 10:17-18
When we get caught up in comparing ourselves to one another as Christians, we hinder the gospel. Even when we get into justifying what we do (comparing ourselves to ourselves) we can get off track. The Corinthian church was falling into both traps. When the gospel is paramount, it unites God’s people.
Am I an advocate for always lifting up the amazing message of Jesus Christ, His life and the meaning of it? Do I get caught up in silly disputes or comparisons with other Christians? Yikes, sometimes. Help me Jesus.
Lord, I was saved by the gospel of Jesus Christ. May I walk through today with that first and foremost in my life. Oh, how grateful I am to be Yours and to be saved.
