Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” He *said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Peter revealed Jesus secret identity. The disciples had felt this way since they saw Him walk on water. But Peter really nailed it. Jesus is the Son of the living God. Some have called this the good confession. We ask people who are being baptized “Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God?” for this very reason.
Who do I say Jesus is? I agree with Peter 100%.
God, I am grateful that Jesus came into my life. I have believed and come to know that He is the Son of God.
