Blessed be the Lord,
Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him.
The Lord is their strength,
And He is a saving defense to His anointed.
Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;

Today is Thanksgiving- its a day to thank God for His provision, watchful eye, attentive ear, grace and mercy, love and affection and His own Dear Son, sent into the world as a Savior.
In a beautiful remembrance of how God has heard and helped him, David sings as his heart is filled with thanks. “And with my song I shall thank Him”. I love how he sees God as he once was- a Shepherd. David must have remembered the days of carrying a lame lamb upon his shoulders. Now, he sees God can carry His sheep ‘forever’. How wonderful.
God, as this day begins- thank you for family and friends and our plans to gather and enjoy each other’s company, to tell stories, and to laugh. May You be present among us and thanked often for all we have in Christ.
