But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13
Suffering together builds our appreciation for one another. It reminds of the eternal purposes of God and disuades us from focusing upon our temporary affliction. That’s why Paul say he should always thank God for the believers in Thessalonica.
How appreciative am I of each of whom God ahs chosen? Do I express my thanks to God for others in the church? I hope my attitude of love and partnership in the gospel exudes as I interact with those God has around me.
God, if I am lacking in appreciation and thankfulness for the very people you called from the beginning, correct me and fill my heart to overflowing. Give me a portion of the same great love which motivated You to save them and me. You are awesome!
