For it is written in the Law of Moses, “YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING.” God is not concerned about oxen, is He? 1 Corinthians 9:9
Paul made the case for his apostleship with the believers in Corinth. In doing so, he also reminded them that he and Barnabas had a right to draw compensation in their preaching of the gospel. Ironically, Paul continued to be a tent-maker and did not exercise that right. Even though God allows for it. “So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel.”
Right now for me, I am in a hybrid situation, drawing a salary as a pastor/teacher and yet working outside the church as a “tent-maker”. How cool it would be to make enough money outside the church and yet be fully available to God in service. One day!
God, I thank for the ultimate dependence I have on You. The inter-dependence on Your people is a blessing to my life as well and good accountability. I know I have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies… so that I can be a blessing. May I be that today, in Jesus name and for His sake. Amen.
