Supreme Court

I have discovered very quickly as a lawyer that there is no shortage of disputes. People disagree about all kinds of things and sometimes for a whole long time. One of the difficulties in modern society is this steady stream of new laws that are ungodly. They emanate from man’s evil imagination, not wisdom from above. Moses heard from God, delivered the ten commandments, and received the job of teaching the law to the people of Israel. He was the first judge for the people who brought him endless disputes. Jethro gave him sound advice: divide the load and reserve yourself as the judge and supreme court. As believers in Christ, we know that Jesus Christ is the Supreme Judge of the world, while being our greatest Advocate too. Amazing that God’s justice includes mercy and grace for those who would receive it. Have you? One day every knee will bow and tongue confess that He is Lord. Why not do that today and make peace with the Holy God who loves you.

Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.  Let them judge the people at all times; and let it be that every major dispute they will bring to you, but every minor dispute they themselves will judge. So it will be easier for you, and they will bear the burden with you. If you do this thing and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all these people also will go to their place in peace.” Exodus 18: 21-23 NASB

What am I holding onto that should and could be delegated to others? Have I reconciled my life with the Supreme Judge of the World?

God, as this day begins- its Easter weekend and the thoughts of Jesus upon the cross are still fluid in my mind. As I anticipate commemorating the resurrection tomorrow, I pray You will lead and guide me though today. Oh, the tasks that could be done. But, help me choose what is most important. Thank you for Your love and mercy. My Judge is also my friend. How wonderful is that?!!!
