Superhero

I enjoy the superhero movies. I love the good vs. evil motif. You might be a Marvel fan or maybe DC is your clan! Do you have a favorite particular superhero? Jesus is far more than all superheroes combined. He actually came into the world to destroy the works of the true enemy of our soul (Satan). Now that’s a cosmic idea of epic proportions, right? Jesus takes rebellious people like us and transfers our allegiance and citizenship from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. We are adopted into His Heavenly Father’s family. As a result, we are no longer under sin’s power. We have been rescued from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and one day, the presence of sin. Thank God for my superhero. Funny, He wants us to be his superheroes in the world today. Let’s do that!

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.  By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 1 John 3:9-10 NASB

How grateful am I for Jesus life, death, and resurrection? Is His power, the same power that raised Him from the dead, at work in me?

God, as this day begins- I am more like Clark Kent or Peter Parker. But, I know You can do miraculous work in me and through me. Let’s be a superhero to someone today. Oh, and thank you for a spectacular Father’s Day all around!
