Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8
Many people are wandering through life, taking detours and side roads leading nowhere. To ‘Trust’ or ‘Believe In’ God, means to put my full weight upon Him. Interestingly, this book of wisdom I am reminded to trust in the Lord and not lean on my own understanding. Even though I have learned few things over the years, I can still grow in my understanding by trusting God. Ultimately, my faith is in Him, His power, His ways, and His will even more than my own skill, intelligence, and experience (though God can work through all of those).
In what or in whom, am I really trusting… myself or the Lord?
God, I am desiring straight paths, not detours. Help me look to You for wisdom, not myself. I really do trust in You. Thank you that healing and refreshment are my common experience with You.
