Sleeping With The Enemy

There were times in my life that I bought into ‘worldly wisdom’ and the vain philosophies of men. I suffered for it when they turned out to be contrary to God’s will and His ways. If nothing else, I wasted my energy on temporal, short-sighted, endeavors. I once thought- sex outside of marriage was ok (so long as you ‘love’ each other), abortion was convenient, pursuing riches first and serving God later was a pathway to happiness. All of these are contrary to ‘wisdom from above’. How about you? Have you been deceived by the worldly wisdom of man? How many are buying into the teachings of left-wing liberalism, socialism, BLM Inc., critical race theory, ‘defund the police’, a borderless world, and other horrible ideas? They will do harm to others and themselves. That’s sad! Solomon likened worldly wisdom to an adulteress. Brilliant analogy! These ideas cause us to stray from fidelity to God’s wisdom. The ideas seem sweet at first, smooth in the way they sound, but they become bitter, sharp, deadly as they march us to hell. These bad ideas are rooted in instability and absent of the knowledge of ‘real life’. Some days I think the only thing that will save America’s future is the local church and school vouchers for parents.

For the lips of an adulteress drip honey,
And her speech is smoother than oil;
But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death,
Her steps take hold of Sheol.
She does not ponder the path of life;
Her ways are unstable, she does not know it. Proverbs 5:3-6

How much do I cherish God’s Word and His wisdom? What parts of my thinking are still in need of redemption?

God, as this Resurrection Sunday begins- I thank You that Your love and kindness, power and righteousness were all expressed in those days leading to the resurrection. And on that Sunday morning, Jesus rose. With Him rose the hope of mankind and my life was changed. You sought me, bought me, and I am redeemed. Undeserved! Today, I will worship You with all my heart, soul, mind (especially) and strength.
