Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:14-20
Turning from immorality and evil to God’s goodness, righteousness and truth is the wise way to live. God’s will is for us to be led each day by His indwelling Spirit into productive lives that make the most of every opportunity. Sin, weighs us down and derails the plans God has for us. Contrasted to that life is one in which we are filled with the Spirit and have harmony with God (make music from your heart).
Am I walking with God in harmony? Yes, to a good degree, but there are moments when sin does derail me. I must guard my life stay connected to Him in prayer throughout the day.
God, I thank you for the Bible, Your Holy Word which shows the wise way to live. I come to You in Jesus name asking You to lead and guide me today. I love it when we are so in sync that its perfect harmony and I feel like we are singing from the same hymnal.
