At work, we played a game called “secret Santa” where I bought a gift anonymously for someone else. Its kind of fund to guess who got you something special. When Jesus came into the world, he did nothing in secret. And He calls his followers to live the truth of God publicly and transparently. He is the great light of the world. We are the little lights. Too often Christians who have the privilege of understanding the truth of God appropriate it for their benefit, forgetting they are to also share with others who might hear the glorious gospel of God and be saved too! Let’s make sure we are holding out the word of life to others this Christmas.
And He was saying to them, “A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, or under a bed, is it? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand? For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light. Mark 4: 21-22 NASB
Would those around me and in my circle of influence know that I live for the Lord and have received the gospel of the kingdom of God?
God, as this day begins- I pray I might be a source of a merry Christmas for others. I commit to let the gospel shine through me.
