For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:6-9
There was a movie spoof on what it means to be ‘Saved’. I have to say, since I don’t mind laughing at myself and some of the ways we express ourselves as Christians, I enjoyed it. Though it poked fun at Christian hypocrisy, it did highlight the need to be saved. Sin entered the world through Adam and passed to all men. But the gift of life was made available to all men through the righteous life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the greatest demonstration of love, Jesus died for us before we ever turned to Him and acknowledged our need for a Savior. This made it possible for you and I to enter into a personal relationship with God knowing God the Father and Jesus Christ (this is eternal life).
To what degree is my life now different from the time before I was saved?
God, as this day begins, I look forward to what You have planned. Please lead and guide me and reveal those I can reach out to and share Your great love.
