Moreover, they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. In a dispute they shall take their stand to judge; they shall judge it according to My ordinances. They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed feasts and sanctify My Sabbaths. Ezekiel 44:23-24
One of the roles of the Levites (priests) was to teach God’s people. Thew were to teach directly and by example. What a wonderful privilege they enjoyed. I like Charles Barkley, but when he said “I dunk basketballs, I am not a role model”, I was disappointed in his abdication of leadership. At least he was accurate and honest. He missed out on the blessing of what he could become.
Do I know the difference between the holy and profane? Am I equipped to teach, settle disputes, judge according to God’s ordinances? Do I model it?
God, thank you that as a believer, I have become a priest in your royal priesthood along with every other believer. Thank you for the reminder of the wonderful privileges associated with this role. May I model it well today for Your glory and praise.
