Renown And Great

renownGod is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great.
His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.
There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war. Psalm 76:1-3

King Hezekiah faced a formidable enemy in Assyria. He sought God in prayer and the Lord turned his enemy away. What resulted was a brief time of peace. God delayed the disaster facing His people. Though their adulterous behavior warranted judgment, God’s favor was extended to them partially because of godly leadership. Oh, how we need the same in our country. Oh, how we need the same in our own lives.

Is God renown and great in my heart? Does He dwell in my tent?

God, this song that recounts your grace extended to Hezekiah is what I need in my life. Yesterday, you did it. You literally answered the prayer with a miracle. You moved people and changed circumstances for Your kingdom’s sake… while giving me favor. I am available for You today. Thank you that You do the same for me.
