Then Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?”
So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are.
You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you. Genesis 41:38-40
Sometimes we are forgotten. Joseph was… for two years, by the cupbearer. Sometimes we are remembered. Joseph’s time had finally come. He was remembered by the cupbearer to Pharaoh and was summoned to interpret a dream. Joseph rightly said he could not do it, but that God could reveal it. Having disclosed to Pharaoh the coming years of plenty and the seven of famine- Joseph added his own God-given wisdom in the solution,- exact a tax on grain and goods of 20% and store it up for the coming years of famine. I wish our own government was frugal and filled with insight like this. As a result of his disclosure, Joseph was promoted. The dream God gave Joseph all those years ago, was not unfolding.
How patient and I with God’s plans? Do I bloom where I am planted as they unfold?
God, thank you for Your grace and love and promises. I pray I might be used to bring clarity and insight when needed. Please continue to work in the lives of my family- Keanu as he travels, Kaenan as he works today and gets his passport updated, Kai as he leads new projects and his team, Kasey as she fosters communication in the church, and Eden as she shares her creativity and charm. Oh, and my wife Lord in all the ways she serves others.
