The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me. Luke 10:16
When the seventy were sent ahead of Jesus to preach and heal in the nearby towns, Jesus let them know that not everyone would receive them. When we share the love and message of God, we should be ready for the same response. While it will always feel “personal” when the message we carry is rejected, it is comforting to know that at the core of the human heart their is rebellion to God, not just His messengers.
Do I consider it a privilege to carry the message of Jesus Christ? Am I “ok” with the rejection that will come my way?
God, may I be both a faithful messenger and one able to take the rejection should it come. Thank you that while there is rebellion in every heart, there is also the sincere desire in all of us to know our Creator.
