Pursuit

Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.
A wise man scales the city of the mighty and brings down the stronghold in which they trust.
Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.
“Scoffer” is the name of the arrogant, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride. Proverbs 21:21-24

I am intrigued by Solomon’s advocacy for righteousness, wisdom, and humility. While he apparently struggled in each of these areas, he unequivocally understood the value and necessity to pursue them. When we pursue righteousness some wonderful by-products come our way as well- life and honor. The power of wisdom is equivalent to superman strength- to scale a mighty city and bring down the stronghold. And of course, the most difficult of all is to tame the tongue and stay out of trouble. Oh how I desire help in this area.

What am I currently pursuing? Would God agree that its righteousness?

God as this day begins, would you impart to me wisdom from Your Word, prompting from Your Spirit, and insight from the life of Jesus. I am praying for people whom I believe You placed on my mind last night- may Joe, Joni, Afairin, and the others sense Your presence in their lives today. I am ready for today’s pursuit.
