worshipThen Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped.
He said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God. Job 1:21-22

When tragedy befell Job, his response was one of amazing insight and faith. He worshiped God in response to the great loss of life and property. How amazing to be able to say “blessed be the name (the purpose and character) of God.”

How do I respond to problems, tragedy and loss? Is my first instinct to draw close to God and worship Him? Do I look for His super-intending purpose or do I blame Him?

God, I do believe You are in control and care enough to guard my life. When suffering is on the horizon I want to be able to worship You and not blame You. Thank you that Your Word gives plenty of examples of why I should.
